Finding celestial themed intaglio seals is rare, to say the least!
 
You can imagine my delight then, upon discovering this crescent moon carving, surrounded by such poignant words 'she receives to give'.
 
The phrase can be seen practically, as the moon receiving light (from the sun), in order to shine bright. 
 
Metaphorically speaking, it is relaying the theory of reciprocity. Actively receiving something, to not only benefit oneself, but to pass it on with the intention of benefitting others. Whether that be the receipt of training to teach others, information to share, love or kindness from a friend to pass on, there are endless examples. You are not just receiving to passively accept, but to share your gain.
 
We have looked to the moon as a goddess since ancient times and this sentiment really conveys the meaning behind that. Female empowerment, growth and change for all of us, primarily comes by lifting eachother.
The photo shows an initial casting of the seal, unpolished or finished as a pendant, so it is not as refined as the final product will be but I couldn't not share this today, on international women's day.
